About the role

The Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer provides senior project, client, market and people leadership across a portfolio of multi-disciplinary work.

The role is accountable for complex delivery, technical and commercial outcomes, strategic client growth, team capability and operational contribution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of significant projects or major discipline programmes, setting delivery, resourcing, governance and escalation arrangements.

• Develop engineers, project leaders and emerging managers and build succession for critical technical, client and operational responsibilities.

• Provide clear direction, objectives, feedback and accountability for direct and project team members.

• Provide senior technical direction, complex review and design verification within competence and authority.

• Champion proportionate Safety in Design, technical risk, independent review and QA across the assigned portfolio.

• Lead or sponsor improvements to technical methods, digital workflows, project controls and cross-office delivery.

• Act as a senior point of contact for key clients and major project stakeholders and proactively shape solutions around client drivers.

• Lead strategic business development in agreed clients, sectors or markets and maintain an active opportunity pipeline.

• Own revenue, margin, scope, variation, forecasting and collection discipline across assigned projects or accounts.

About you

• Maintain senior technical, commercial, leadership and market capability, including relevant registrations and CPD

• Protect independent engineering judgement and act within competence, authority and professional obligations

• Model and actively promote JHA values, respectful conduct, inclusion and open communication across teams and offices

• Demonstrate repeatable leadership across business development, project and team management, strategy and technical authority
