About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Control System Engineer in our Townsville Office. As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering control system projects from concept through to completion. This includes designing, developing, testing, commissioning, and documenting solutions that meet both engineering and business standards. You’ll work with technologies such as PLCs, SCADA systems, and various hardware and software platforms to support our clients' operational needs. Your time will be split between office-based development work, on-site commissioning and servicing, and providing ad-hoc on-call support as required. This role offers a dynamic mix of technical challenges and hands-on fieldwork in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver automation services including design documentation, programming, and implementation aligned with project scope and standards
Ensure timely and budget-conscious project delivery with high-quality outcomes ready for client handover
Plan and execute installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems including PLC and SCADA
Provide ongoing service and support for key customer sites, including participation in on-call rosters
Maintain effective communication with clients regarding project scope, timelines, and budgets, while identifying future opportunities
Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental procedures, ensuring compliance with company and client standards
Evaluate completed work for continuous improvement in safety, quality, and environmental practices
Maintain internal systems including task tracking, timesheets, and adherence to company policies
About You
You will be degree qualified in Engineering having at least 3 years hands on experience in control systems design, programming and commissioning
We will highly regard candidates with strong skills and experience in Industrial Control and Automation (SCADA and PLC) including design, software development, testing and commissioning
Candidates with experience in legacy control systems and experience with modernisation strategies will be highly valued
You will have widespread skills and knowledge in electrical design, fault finding and commissioning of industrial automation plants
You will have an unrestricted Australian Motor Vehicle Licence
Desirable Experience and Skills
Client-focused with strong communication skills
PLC/SCADA system design and development
Industrial communications, network design and development.
Experience in the manufacturing sector such as Food & Beverage and Heavy Industries
Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, Ignition and Schneider PLC/SCADA
