We are now seeking an experienced Operations Support Officer to join our Brisbane team and play a key role in supporting daily transport operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the QLD State Manager, this role is responsible for supporting scheduling, planning, allocation, and coordination of local and linehaul freight operations.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a busy logistics environment and enjoys working closely with drivers, depots, and customers to ensure freight moves safely and on time.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday | 09:00am – 6:00pm
Occasional weekend shifts as required to support operational demands
Key Responsibilities
Support daily planning and allocation of local and linehaul freight.
Coordinate with interstate depots on inbound and outbound movements.
Plan next-day pickups and deliveries (FTL & LTL).
Assist with driver rostering and scheduling.
Monitor daily capacity of drivers and fleet.
Send daily job instructions to drivers (start times, trailers, routes).
Assist with dispatch and yard operations.
Ensure all loads are captured and recorded in the TMS.
Create and manage driver manifests and paperwork.
Conduct yard checks and stocktakes.
Escalate late pickups or deliveries with customers.
Maintain clear handovers between shifts.
Ensure drivers complete PODs, run sheets, and pre-starts.
Liaise with workshops and operations teams when required.
Promote and enforce safe work practices at all times.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in transport, logistics, or warehousing.
Strong knowledge of the QLD road network.
Experience in FTL and LTL operations.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
High attention to detail and sense of urgency.
Excellent communication skills (phone and email).
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service and relationship skills.
Confidence using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Safety-first mindset.
Desirable:
Experience in refrigerated or temperature-controlled transport.
Knowledge of NHVR regulations and fatigue management.
