Universal Concrete Construction A Solid Plasterer is responsible for repairing, restoring, and finishing concrete and masonry surfaces by applying cement-based renders, patching compounds, and plaster systems. The role focuses on producing high-quality architectural concrete finishes while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. Benefits Task & responsibilities JOB DUTIES Inspect concrete surfaces and identify defects such as honeycombing, blowholes, cracks, chips, and surface imperfections.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, removing loose materials, and applying bonding agents before repairs. Mix and apply plaster, render, cement mortar, epoxy fillers, and concrete patching materials. Perform Class 1 concrete patching to achieve a smooth, seamless finish that matches the surrounding concrete.
Repair damaged concrete edges, corners, columns, walls, ceilings, and precast elements. Use hand and power tools including trowels, grinders, sanders, mixing equipment, and finishing tools. Finish surfaces by levelling, smoothing, sanding, and texturing to meet project specifications.
Work from drawings, specifications, and supervisor instructions. Erect and safely use ladders, scaffolds, and elevated work platforms where required. Maintain a clean and safe work environment while complying with WHS/OHS requirements.
Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met. Assist with general site preparation, material handling, and cleanup. RESPONSIBILITIES Finish repaired surfaces by levelling, trowelling, sanding, and texturing to match surrounding concrete or specified architectural finishes.
Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work instructions to complete projects accurately. Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, mixers, grinders, sanders, and other plastering equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure repairs comply with project specifications, Australian Standards, and quality control requirements.
Follow Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Erect and safely use ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms where required. Measure and estimate material quantities to minimise waste and ensure efficient use of resources.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area throughout the project. Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, and other team members to meet project schedules and client expectations. Conduct final inspections to ensure completed work meets company quality standards and client requirements.
