We are seeking a passionate and community-focused Men’s Wellbeing Therapy Worker to join our Men’s Wellbeing Team. This rewarding role supports Anangu men through culturally safe Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) programs that strengthen connection to culture, community, identity, and overall wellbeing.

About the Role

As the Men’s Wellbeing Therapy Worker, you will provide practical support, mentoring, wellbeing activities, group programs, and low-intensity social and emotional wellbeing support to men within the Yalata community and surrounding region. You will work closely with clients, Elders, community stakeholders, and internal health teams to promote positive wellbeing outcomes and improve access to support services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide culturally safe and client-centred wellbeing support.
• Deliver group activities, cultural engagement programs, and community-based initiatives.
• Support clients experiencing social, emotional, behavioural, and well-being challenges.
• Assist clients in accessing internal and external support services through referrals.
• Maintain accurate client records, case notes, and reporting documentation.
• Participate in case conferencing and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Support the development and delivery of culturally appropriate wellbeing programs.
• Build strong relationships with community members, Elders, and service partners.
• Promote cultural identity, resilience, and connection to community.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

• Certificate IV in Community Services or a related qualification.
• Experience working within social services, wellbeing, community services, or support roles.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A supportive, empathetic, and culturally respectful approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (manual).
• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
• National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Highly Regarded

• Experience working with Aboriginal communities.
• Experience working in remote communities.
• Knowledge of Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) frameworks.
• Understanding of Aboriginal culture, traditions, and community wellbeing.
• Ability to communicate in the local Anangu language.
