Job Description:
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated HSE Advisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.
The role provides Health, Safety and Environmental support for our Brisbane project. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile rail infrastructure project as part of a global team. The primary purpose is to contribute to the HSE team’s goals to influence positive attitudes and behaviours that foster a positive safety culture, ensure continuous improvement and good corporate governance.
Key accountabilities:
Providing technical advice and coaching including safety leadership, risk management, HSE systems, incident investigation, inspection and monitoring, training.
Conduct audits of project operations, the HSE Management System and its implementation for compliance and continuous improvement.
Assist with the implementation of control measures to address HSE risk and ensure monitoring and reviews for effectiveness is undertaken.
Facilitate the communication and consultation of necessary HSE information/ lessons learned, across all sites in the project.
Required skills and knowledge:
5+ years’ experience in a high-risk industry, engineering / railway / construction environment is essential.
Demonstrated evidence and knowledge of QR SEMS.
Minimum Diploma of Work Health and Safety.
Cert IV Training and Assessment desirable.
Ability to build HSE capability and safety leadership of managers, employees, and contractors.
Ability to influence and drive safe behaviours and performance through building effective relationships and engagement.
Demonstratable knowledge and experience of ISO45001 and ISO14001.
Highly proficient computer skills and experience in using Microsoft Office suite and other computer programs
