The dentist will provide a full range of general dental services, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, restorations, extractions, preventive care, and emergency treatment. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing a clinical schedule, maintaining accurate and compliant patient records, and collaborating with dental assistants and reception staff to ensure smooth patient flow. The role also involves communicating treatment options clearly, obtaining informed consent, and delivering patient-centered care with attention to comfort and safety. The locum dentist will be expected to adhere to practice protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting continuity of care during the locum period.Qualifications Current registration (or eligibility for registration) as a General Dentist with the appropriate dental board or regulatory authority.Recognized dental degree and completion of all required professional certifications for practicing in NSW.Demonstrated experience in general dentistry, including diagnostics, restorative procedures, extractions, and preventive care.Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to evidence-based practice and infection control standards.Clear, respectful communication skills and the ability to build trust with patients from diverse backgrounds.Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary dental team.Comfort using modern dental equipment and practice management software; willingness to adapt to established clinic workflows.Professional, ethical approach to patient care, with a focus on safety, privacy, and informed consent.Prior locum or private practice experience is beneficial, as is familiarity with Australian dental regulations and guidelines.
