Cook - two positions available

A well-established cafe/restaurant located in Melville is presently looking for two permanent full-time Cooks to commence work immediately.

Duties of the role include the following:

• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking

• Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking

• Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgement and experience

• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgement, using various kitchen utensils

• Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons

• Regulate temperature of oven, grills and roasters

• Coordinate and supervise junior kitchen hand staff

• Follow FIFO storing methods to minimise wastage

• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen to keep hygiene of foods produced

• Report any incidents occurred to the director within 24 hours

Formal qualifications in cookery and two years' experience in western cuisine is required for the role. 

Salary would be between $75,000 - $80,000 depending on experience.
