About the role
Glamorgan Spring Bay Council is seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded Environmental Health Officer to join our Environmental Health team based in Triabunna.
This is an ongoing part-time opportunity (15 – 22.5 hours per week), ideal for an experienced Environmental Health Officer seeking greater flexibility, someone returning to the workforce, or a professional looking to combine meaningful work with an exceptional lifestyle.
What's on Offer?Salary: $80,019 - $92,204 per annum (pro rata)
18.5% superannuation, with the option to take 6.5% as salary
Ongoing part-time position (2-3 days per week)

As our Environmental Health Officer, you'll work alongside our Senior Environmental Health Officer to help protect and promote public and environmental health across the Glamorgan Spring Bay municipality.
Your work will include:
Conducting food business and public health inspections
Investigating environmental health complaints
Providing advice and education to businesses and the community
Applying environmental health legislation and regulatory requirements
Working collaboratively with internal teams and State Government agencies
Contributing to positive environmental health outcomes across the municipality
No two days are the same, making this a rewarding role with plenty of variety and community engagement.
About YouWe're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and is passionate about improving community health.
You'll bring:
A recognised qualification that enables appointment as an Environmental Health Officer in Tasmania
A current driver's licence
Experience undertaking environmental health inspections and investigations
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
The ability to interpret and apply environmental health legislation
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
Experience working in Local Government will be highly regarded but is not essential.
