Uniform Attendant

We are currently seeking an experienced Uniform Attendant at The Reef Hotel Casino, the pre-eminent centre for gaming, entertainment, food and accommodation in Cairns. 

This is a rare opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with sewing and garment care experience who enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Distribute, maintain, clean, and control employee uniforms across all departments.

• Complete alterations and repairs to uniforms (i.e. replacing buttons, repairing zippers, hemming).

• Operate sewing machines and other equipment as required.

• Monitor inventory levels and report damaged or worn items.

• Repair and maintain hotel linen, bedspreads, blankets, and other textiles.

• Process, wash, dry, press, fold, and store linen in accordance with quality standards.

• Apply appropriate stain treatment and fabric care.

Criteria

• Previous experience in sewing, tailoring, alterations, or a similar garment care role.

• Demonstrated ability to operate a sewing machine.

• Previous experience in a hotel, commercial laundry, or housekeeping highly regarded.

• Previous experience with industrial washers, dryers, and flat-sheet ironers.

• Familiar with the use of general cleaning and housekeeping maintenance equipment.

• A positive, team-focused attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.

• Ability to accommodate flexibility with shifts.
