About the roleThis role functions as a critical bridge between the centralised Technology and Digital Services directorate and the academic research and teaching community.The role works with academic staff to develop, supply and maintain platforms that support teaching and learning for highly technical courses and provide high performance and general-purpose compute for research.You will need to liaise and work closely with both academic and professional staff to plan future requirements, determine upcoming demand, develop budgets and deliver platforms that are a critical part of UNEs teaching and research.
About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:Experience with multi-user HPC and general-purpose compute systemsExperience working in research and/or academic environmentsHighly skilled in Systems AdministrationExcellent interpersonal skills and a collegial approach to collaborationAn ability to consult and develop roadmaps and architecture to supply a diverse range of solutions
About the DepartmentThis role is part of the Digital Infrastructure team within the Technology and Digital Services (TDS) directorate at UNE. TDS is responsible for the technology platforms, infrastructure, and digital services that support the University's teaching, learning, research, and administrative operations - from networks and cloud platforms to servers and end-user devices.The work is diverse, challenging and rewarding. We’re a small, tight knit team that work well together delivering services and platforms that contribute directly to UNE's educational and research mission, in a community where 81% of staff believe in the University's overall purpose.
