About the role
Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the native language of the Australian Deaf community. It uses hand shapes, movements, facial expressions and body language to communicate meaning and connection.
This role is specifically suited to someone who is fluent in Auslan and confident communicating with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.

Happy Healthy Care is currently seeking an experienced, compassionate and passionate Auslan Disability Support Worker to join our growing team.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is fluent in Auslan and genuinely wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of NDIS participants, both in their homes and within the community.
As an Auslan Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants, ensuring strong communication, independence, and community engagement.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting participants with daily living tasks
Community access and social outings
Assistance with appointments and communication support
Promoting independence, confidence, and wellbeing
Building positive and respectful professional relationships
To be successful, you must be fluent in Auslan.
Preferred qualification:
✅ Diploma of Auslan
However, we also encourage applications from candidates with:
Certificate II, III or IV in Auslan
CODA (Children of Deaf Adults) who are fully fluent in Auslan
Strong demonstrated experience using Auslan in professional settings
Fluent Auslan communication skills
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain)
Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain)
Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
Strong professionalism, empathy, and reliability
