Retail Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead and manage our retail operations at our West End QLD location. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to drive commercial success, enhance customer experience, and lead a dedicated team in a dynamic retail environment. As Retail Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and strategic direction of the store, ensuring it operates at the highest standards whilst maintaining strong relationships with both customers and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations

• Lead, motivate, and develop a retail team, providing coaching, training, and performance management to achieve individual and store objectives

• Drive sales performance and achieve budgeted targets through effective merchandising, promotional activities, and customer engagement strategies

• Manage inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering processes to maintain optimal product availability and minimise shrinkage

• Create an exceptional customer experience by establishing a customer-focused culture and resolving complaints professionally and promptly

• Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control measures

• Implement visual merchandising standards and maintain store appearance to brand specifications

• Recruit, interview, and onboard team members, building a high-performing workforce

• Liaise with head office and cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment with company strategy

What we're looking for

• Proven retail management experience in a similar retail environment, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity

• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members

• Excellent commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to drive sales, manage budgets, and achieve profitability targets

• Experience with retail systems, point of sale (POS) software, and inventory management systems

• Customer service excellence with a proven track record of creating positive customer experiences

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders

• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment

• Knowledge of retail compliance, health and safety regulations, and data protection requirements

• Qualifications in retail management, business administration, or a related field are advantageous
