About the role
About the role
Blissful Support Pty Ltd is seeking compassionate, reliable and dedicated Disability Support Workers and qualified Nurses to join our growing team in Shepparton.
This is a casual disability support position providing person-centred care to NDIS participants in their homes and within the community.
Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses are encouraged to apply; however, applicants must be comfortable working primarily in a disability support worker role, rather than an aged care or clinical nursing position.
You will support participants to increase their independence, participate in the community and work towards their individual goals.
Duties may include:
Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting
Supporting participants with meal preparation, cleaning, laundry and daily household tasks
Providing community access and transport to appointments, activities, employment or education
Supporting participants with medication in accordance with their support plans and organisational procedures
Assisting with mobility, transfers and manual handling
Supporting participants with social engagement and independent living skills
Following behaviour support plans and responding appropriately to behaviours of concern
Monitoring and reporting changes in a participant’s health, behaviour or wellbeing
Completing accurate case notes, incident reports and other required documentation
Maintaining participant privacy, dignity, choice and professional boundaries
Working collaboratively with participants, families and other members of their support team
Clinical tasks must only be completed where the employee is appropriately qualified, trained and authorised.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related qualification
Nursing qualifications as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse are highly regarded
Previous experience in disability support, mental health, nursing or community services
A current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
A current Working with Children Check, where required
Current First Aid and CPR certification
A current Australian driver’s licence
Access to a reliable and appropriately insured vehicle
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A person-centred approach to supporting people with disability
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliability, flexibility and professional boundaries
Availability to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays
Experience supporting participants with complex needs, mental health conditions, behaviours of concern or high-intensity support needs will be highly regarded.
Flexible casual working arrangements
Competitive pay rates and applicable penalty rates
A variety of shifts across community access and supported independent living
Ongoing training and professional development
Support from an experienced and approachable management team
A positive, respectful and inclusive workplace
The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disability
Blissful Support Pty Ltd provides person-centred disability support services throughout Shepparton and surrounding areas.
We are committed to supporting participants to live with greater independence, choice, dignity and community inclusion.
