Senior Dietitian

This is a Permanent Part Time appointment at 15.2 hrs per fortnight. 

Position Profile: This position plans, coordinates, delivers, monitors and evaluates the delivery of timely and culturally appropriate palliative care dietetic services across WA country including utilising telehealth technologies. In addition, this position undertakes associated supervisory and administrative duties as part of the WA Country Health Services provision.

Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

Suitability Criteria:

Suitability recognises that a range of factors contribute to merit, including skills, knowledge, abilities, behaviours, ethical alignment and relevant operational requirements. The suitability requirements below are derived from the Job Description Form and define what will be assessed to determine your suitability for the role:

• Tertiary qualification in Dietetics and eligible for full membership of Dietitians Australia as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD).
• Demonstrated relevant clinical experience, high-level knowledge and skills in a range of Dietetic assessment, treatment and evaluation practices.
• Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including information technology, conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership, supervision, and governance skills in Dietetic services as a senior member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate Dietetic services including the application of quality improvement principles and practices.
• Current knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in the areas of Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety & Health, and how these impact on employment, people management and service delivery.
• Experience in delivery of virtual, telehealth or remote care.
• Demonstrated ability to use computer systems and digital technologies effectively

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for other ‘similar’ vacancies within WACHS and/or the wider WA public sector.
