1st-4th year Heavy Vehicle Apprentice / Heavy Vehicle Tradesmen

John's Motor Services is a family run business that has been servicing the Sydney Metropolitan and South Sydney area for over 40 years. Our team of mechanics specialize in concrete agitators, light commercial to heavy vehicles and cummins ISL and ISC engines.

Heavy vehicle workshop in Condell Park are looking for a 1st-4th year apprentice and Heavy Vehicle Tradesmen to join our team.

We will be moving to Smithfield in October 2026.

Immediate start available.

The Role:

Servicing and repairing major Concrete Agitator fleets from our Condell Park workshop.

Working on, Kenworth, Mack, Iveco and Freightliner with Cummins ISL and ISC engines. Also working on Isuzu, UD and Sino.

Tasks & responsibilities

Tradesmen:

• Steering and suspension repairs

• Engine diagnostic and repairs

• Electrical fault diagnostic and repairs

• Preventative maintenance and scheduled truck & mixer servicing

• Breakdown callouts if needed

Apprentice:

• Learn to perform truck and mixer servicing , including installation, repair, trouble-shooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance,

• Report needs for additional service or repairs to vehicles that has been detected during routine services.

In this role you will need to:

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology ( Tradesmen )

• Permanent Australian working rights.

• Current driver's license

• Be reliable and results driven.

• Have great communication skills.

• Works efficiently in a team setting

• Good organizational skills.

• Follow safety policies and standards.

• Observe and maintain a high level of safety at all times.
