About the role

We are currently looking to hire an experienced Senior Estimator for our Steel SA division.

You'll manage and estimate Design & Construct and pre-designed steel projects from concept through to hand-over. It's a hands-on role, you'll own project costs, timelines and quality outcomes, while building strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors.

What you'll do

• Estimate project costs across materials, equipment and labour
• Lead single or multiple projects end-to-end within cost, quality, safety and time targets
• Evaluate project risks and opportunities through research and analysis
• Negotiate and manage supply of labour and materials
• Act as the key point of contact for clients on project matters
• Keep the Project Management team updated on progress
• Flag any substandard workmanship/cost related issues early
• Stay across the latest construction techniques and industry trends

What you'll bring

• Experience with estimating systems/programs
• Solid exposure to the construction industry
• Current driver's licence and White Card
• Strong planning, time management and prioritisation skills
• Confident communicator who builds relationships internally and externally easily
• Ability to lead others and make sound calls under pressure
• Sharp attention to detail

Nice to have

• First Aid Certificate
• Tertiary quals in building, engineering, quantity surveying or similar
• Experience with building estimating systems
• A track record of growing business opportunities
