Quarry Operator (Day Shift & Afternoon Shift)

Innovating since 2007, Aurora Construction Materials is one of Victoria’s leading producers of recycled and upcycled aggregate, crushed rock and low-carbon concrete. 

An opportunity exists for highly motivated individuals with a hands-on approach to become an integral part of our quarry team. This position is responsible for the daily productivity of our crushing and screening facilities.  

The role will cover shifts across both day and afternoons.

What you’ll be doing

Variety is the name of the game here, and no two days will be the same. You’re a mechanically minded trouble-shooter and problem-solver. You’re a gun crushing and screening operator, in a fixed or mobile setting. You’re an expert operator on front end loaders (medium-large, face loading and stockpiling applications) and excavator (up to 50T). Primarily you’re a leader, ensuring our people and our processes are optimised on a daily basis for maximum performance. You’ll draw on your experience to identify areas for improvement, and create actions to realise continuous improvement. Above all, you’ll maintain the highest standards of safety at all times. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Promoting a healthy and safe work environment.

• Operating fixed (quarry crushing plant) and mobile equipment (FEL, Excavator, Water Truck)

• Supporting the Quarry Manager, Site Coordinator and Team Leader to safely and effectively coordinate the sites operations

• Manual cleaning and clearing of rock/dirt material as required
   

Who you are

If you are excited by redefining construction materials, we want to hear from you. Safe operation is second nature to you. You are experienced in quarry operations, with deep knowledge of fixed plant and mobile plant operation. You are available for work Monday to Friday with Saturday work also available. 

Experience in a similar role is desirable.
