ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Drill and Blast Foreman at Norton Gold Fields, you will lead and coordinate daily drill and blast operations across our open pit, driving safety, productivity and continuous improvement while managing and developing a high-performing team.

• Lead daily drill and blast operations in line with the mine plan, overseeing all phases from pattern design and drilling through to loading and firing.

• Manage, mentor and develop a team of supervisors and crew, including performance evaluations, training, compliance and career development planning.

• Champion a strong safety culture by conducting regular inspections, audits, incident investigations and risk assessments to maintain the highest operational standards.

• Liaise with mine planning, production and geology teams to optimise blast designs, fragmentation and minimise ore loss and dilution.

• Monitor drill and blast KPIs, control costs, support budget preparation and lead optimisation trials to drive continuous improvement in efficiency and productivity.

• Provide D&B input to short and long term mine planning, support workforce planning and assist with recruitment for the department.

ABOUT YOU

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in drill & blast and 2 years of leadership experience (Essential).

• Statutory 26 Supervisor qualification or in the process of acquiring one (Essential).

• Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).

• Proficient with IT and/or Engineering project methodologies (Desirable).

• Relevant Tertiary or TAFE qualifications (Desirable).

• Comfortable communicating at all levels from operators through to management and chairing meetings.

• Good understanding of the following machines:

  • Atlas T45 , D65 and L7 blast hole drill rigs

• Receive up to $5k site allowance per annum, depending on your site location.

• Receive up to 15% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.

• A fully covered family private health insurance through GU Health Complete Gold Cover or allowance up to $5k.

• A fully covered Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance or allowance up to $2.4k.

• Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and be entitled to 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.
