About the role
United Society is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team. If you're passionate about empowering people with disability to live independently and achieve their goals, we'd love to hear from you.
Please note: Employees must have open availability to meet participant rostering requirements. A variety of shifts are available, including sleepover shifts.
Remuneration will be paid in accordance with the SCHADS Award, taking into consideration relevant qualifications and experience.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to participants in their homes and within the community. Your responsibilities may include:
Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
Supporting participants in accordance with Positive Behaviour Support Plans and authorised Restrictive Practices.
Assisting participants to access community, social, recreational, and educational activities.
Supporting meal preparation, transport, shopping, and household tasks.
Promoting independence, dignity, choice, and inclusion.
Implementing individual support plans and maintaining accurate documentation and progress notes.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
A genuine passion for supporting people with disability
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Reliability, flexibility and a positive attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Essential requirements:
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
Current Working with Children Card (or willingness to obtain)
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Valid Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent (desirable) - (or willingness to obtain)
Candidates must have valid Australian work rights to be eligible for this position
