The National Redress Scheme is in its final stage, and there is urgent work to do. Before applications close, Knowmore is focused on helping as many survivors as possible understand their options, access legal advice and make informed decisions about applying for redress.

About the Capability Development RSS Team

We're a team of specialist lawyers and paralegals based across Knowmore’s offices. We work with Redress Support Services around the country who support survivors applying to the National Redress Scheme.

We support these services through legal advice and assistance, relationship building, and developing learning material. In practice, that means leading large and small group training, one-on-one case consultations, providing legal advice in writing and verbally and participating in Communities of Practice and other stakeholder meetings.

What you’ll do

• Support our lawyers with the day-to-day management of client files, including accurate recording of information in our database
• Coordinate and triage incoming enquiries and referrals
• Assist with drafting correspondence and documents
• Undertake legal and other research, including helping design legal information materials
• Coordinate and assist with training webinars and Communities of Practice with Redress Support Services
• Coordinate internal and external appointments
• Work collaboratively with our internal teams, Redress Support Services and other external stakeholders to support effective service delivery

About you

You are organised, have attention to detail, and have genuine interest in helping others build and develop their skills. You’re confident in balancing competing priorities, multi-tasking, building stakeholder relationships, and working independently and collaboratively in a team.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A relevant legal tertiary qualification, or be working towards one
• Excellent attention to detail particularly in record keeping, data entry and file management
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• The ability to understand complex legislation and help explain it in plain, accessible ways to non-legal audiences
• Confidence with relationship building across a range of services
