About the role
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Livestock Operations Overseer to lead and implement all cattle operations across a progressive mixed farming enterprise in Bonshaw NSW. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about livestock performance, pasture management, and practical on-farm leadership.
About Girraween Properties
We are a successful, family-owned farming business with centre-pivot irrigation of summer crops (cotton & corn) and a beef cattle breeding, trading & fattening enterprise in the Bonshaw/Texas area. The farm is based in the Goondiwindi and Inverell local government areas. The livestock operation consists of an Angus breeding herd joined to Angus & Wagyu bulls in an intensively managed subtropical grazing system, along with native pastures. Progeny along with trade cattle are finished on irrigated and dryland forage crops.
Girraween operates with modern machinery and watering systems, embracing new technologies, sustainable farming & grazing methods. The family business has been in a period of strong growth & development with a fantastic small team and a mix of autonomy & shared work. Girraween has first-class livestock handing facilities. There is a safe workplace culture & a healthy work-life balance for all employees is a priority.
Girraween borders the Dumaresq River (numerous fishing & recreational spots on farm) and Bonshaw village & school. The farm is 20 mins from the friendly community of Texas, with schools and bus run. Glen Lyon Dam is also nearby.
