About the role
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work with NDIS participants, their families and support networks to understand behaviour in context and develop practical, evidence-informed strategies that improve quality of life.
This is a flexible independent contractor position, suited to an experienced practitioner who values autonomy while being part of a collaborative and supportive clinical environment.
Conducting functional behaviour assessments
Developing Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
Working collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators, allied health professionals and support teams
Providing training and coaching to families and implementing providers
Monitoring behaviour support strategies and participant outcomes
Completing reports and documentation in accordance with NDIS requirements
Supporting the appropriate reduction and elimination of restrictive practices
Attending stakeholder meetings and case conferences
Managing your caseload and appointments with a high degree of autonomy
To be considered for this role, you will:
Be considered Core or Proficient under the NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner Capability Framework
Have a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience, including experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support within the NDIS
Have strong assessment, report writing and clinical reasoning skills
Be confident working collaboratively with participants and multidisciplinary stakeholder teams
Take a compassionate, person-centred and evidence-informed approach
Be organised, reliable and comfortable managing your own workload and professional responsibilities
Value ethical practice, collaboration and positive outcomes for participants
Relevant qualifications may include Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Behavioural Science, Education, Disability or another relevant discipline.
As this is an independent contractor position, successful applicants will be required to have and maintain the registrations, insurances and business requirements necessary to operate as an independent contractor, including:
A current Australian Business Number (ABN)
Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
Appropriate public liability insurance
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current Working with Children Check, where applicable to your caseload
Relevant professional registration, membership or accreditation where applicable to your discipline
Current NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner suitability at the required level
Any other mandatory checks, registrations or credentials required to provide services within the NDIS
Capacity to manage your own taxation, superannuation and other business obligations associated with working as an independent contractor
Contractors are responsible for maintaining their own professional credentials, insurances and statutory requirements throughout the engagement.
