Participant Success Mentor (50D)

Broome, WA | Full-Time | 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract

Summary:

The Participant Success Mentor plays a crucial role in supporting and guiding learners throughout their educational journey. Based in Broome, Western Australia, this full-time contract position focuses on enhancing participant engagement and success in their training programs. The Mentor will work closely with students to provide tailored support, ensuring they achieve their learning goals and maximise their potential within the educational framework.

As a Participant Success Mentor, you will provide strengths-based mentoring and practical support to participants as they work towards employment, training and education outcomes. You will build trusted relationships, support goal setting, connect participants with services and opportunities, and help them navigate challenges that may impact their success

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to participants, helping them navigate their educational pathways.
• Develop and implement personalised learning plans that cater to individual needs and goals.
• Provide support during workshops and group sessions to enhance participant engagement and foster a supportive learning environment.
• Assist participants to understand workplace expectations and develop practical life and work skills.
• Monitor and assess participant progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Collaborate with educators and administrative staff to ensure a cohesive approach to participant success.

Maintain positive relationships with employers, training providers and community partners.

• Maintain accurate records of participant interactions, case notes and progress for reporting purposes.
• Act as a liaison between participants and external support services, ensuring access to necessary resources and/ or referral pathways.

Contribute to program reporting and continuous improvement activities

You are someone who genuinely enjoys helping others succeed and understands the importance of culturally safe, participant-centered support.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Experience supporting disengaged, vulnerable or at-risk individuals.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
• A genuine commitment to mentoring and empowering people.
• Sound administration and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• The ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal people, families and communities.

Knowledge of barriers experienced by Aboriginal people and existing networks across community services, employment, training or government sectors will be highly regarded
