About the role
Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ANI) is the owner, developer and manager of the Osborne Naval Shipyards, supporting the Commonwealth’s Naval Shipbuilding Plan. ANI is responsible designing, constructing and managing the shipyard infrastructure, including the new Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard to support the AUKUS program, and operating and maintaining common use facilities.
ANI plays a pivotal role in delivering Australia’s naval shipbuilding capability, contributing to one of the nation’s most significant and complex infrastructure programs. Based in Adelaide, our work underpins the future of naval shipbuilding through world-class infrastructure at Osborne.
ANI has an opportunity for an experienced Capability Development Lead to join our People & Culture team in Adelaide. In this role, you will lead capability and leadership development initiatives, partner with leaders to identify workforce needs, and deliver programs that build capability, support nuclear stewardship requirements, and strengthen organisational performance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Cultivate a high-performance learning culture across ANI
Manage and govern mandatory and compliance learning programs including onboarding and induction programs, ensuring our people, contractors and partners meet regulatory, legislative, and organisational requirements
Partner with Nuclear Stewardship to deliver and manage the Nuclear Baseline Plan requirements across ANI
Lead the development and delivery of leadership capability programs that strengthen leadership effectiveness, succession readiness, and organisational performance
Develop professional, and infrastructure capability development initiatives to ensure our people possess the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to meet current and future business requirements
Partner with leaders to identify capability gaps and translate workforce needs into targeted development solutions aligned to organisational priorities
Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of capability development initiatives, using workforce insights and performance data to continuously improve development outcomes
Support the embedding of capability and competency frameworks, and other People & Culture initiatives
About You:
You are a collaborative and proactive capability professional with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a passion for developing people’s skills. You can translate workforce needs into practical learning solutions and thrive in a dynamic environment where you can influence, improve, and drive capability outcomes across the organisation.
You will also have:
Australian citizenship and otherwise eligible to obtain and maintain any required security clearances required for a Defence related facility
Proven experience in capability, learning or organisational development roles
Experience in embedding capability frameworks and learning pathways/experiences into complex organisations
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Ability to translate workforce needs into practical, scalable solutions
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
