This role is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a 7/7 day night roster. We encourage suitably qualified and experienced local candidates to apply. The Role

We are looking for an experienced, results-focused and ambitious individual to join us in a role of a Diesel Fitter with the Mobile Fleet team at George Fisher Mine. Reporting to the Mobile Fleet Supervisor, you will have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, working in a dynamic and challenging environment with a high focus on planned maintenance. The ideal person will be required to participate in all aspects of fleet maintenance, including; routine maintenance, corrective repairs and breakdowns.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Performing heavy fleet maintenance work, as well as breakdown repairs;Undertaking planned maintenance tasks as instructed;Project work as required;Working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary trade team;Demonstrating a high standard of professional workmanship;Planned maintenance activities on assets such as Sandvik, Caterpillar, Volvo and Normet;Contributing to continuous improvement opportunities;Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace;Mentoring apprentices.

You will have the following skillset and attributes:

Trade qualified Diesel Fitter;High risk work licence, Working at Heights and Confined Space, forklift licence, overhead gantry crane;Mining experience preferred but not essential;Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills:Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail;Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure;Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment;Good communication skills;Willingness and ability to learn new processes;Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence;Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar system;Experience in Excel would be an advantage
