The Role

We have an opportunity that exists for a Mechanical Fitter to join the Maintenance team at George Fisher Mine. Reporting to the Area supervisor, you will have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, working in a dynamic and challenging environment. This position is a residential role in Mount Isa and require you to work a 7 on 7 off day shift only roster, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Safe and efficient repairs and maintenance of fixed plant assetsUndertaking preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on Fixed Plant equipmentSafe and high quality of work conductedIdentify potential improvements to work practices and conditionsProvide feedback to the Leading Hand on a regular basisSupporting improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned stoppagesWork positively in a team environment whilst providing support when called uponMaintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace

The successful candidate will possess:

Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role (can include apprenticeship time)Trade qualified Fitter (Supply trade qualification details on application)Innovation and adhering to safety procedures.Ability to think logically and solve problems when requiredExcellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills;Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail.Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure.Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.Good communication skills with peers, customers and management.Willingness and ability to learn new processes.Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence.Experience in SAP and Microsoft Office would be an advantage or similar system
