About the role
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Winner: The Australian Best Places to Work - Medium Organisation
At Hallmarc, we create spaces and communities that enhance people’s lives.
The approach to our work is considered and collaborative. Uniquely, all functions of the property development process are performed in-house which means architecture, interior design, construction, project management, sales, leasing, marketing, operations and asset management are all conducted exclusively by us. In doing this, we have greater control of every aspect of the project both before and after it is completed, and ensures no corners are cut, quality is upheld, and customer service is paramount.
We believe that things are better when they are done together.
Our team is made up of individuals who are passionate and dedicated, managing their functions and our communities with care and integrity that proudly represents the Hallmarc name.
THE ROLE:
Reporting directly to the Head of Design and working collaboratively within a dynamic team, this role is heavily focused on conceptual design, design direction, materiality and the creation of distinctive interior environments.
We are seeking a talented Project Interior Designer to play a key role in shaping the design vision across our projects, translating emerging trends, creative ideas and project objectives into considered, cohesive and commercially successful interiors.
With a strong emphasis on materials, finishes, fixtures, detailing and spatial experience, you will contribute from early concept development through to design resolution, ensuring each project achieves a strong and distinctive design identity.
This is an opportunity for a designer who is passionate about contemporary design and brings a discerning eye for quality, functionality and detail, while balancing creativity with commercial, budget and project requirements.
DUTIES:
Lead the development of interior design concepts from initial ideas through to developed design.
Establish strong design narratives, palettes and overall design direction for projects.
Develop innovative and considered interior design solutions that respond to the project, target market and broader architectural vision.
Prepare concept presentations, mood boards, material palettes, imagery and design documentation to communicate design intent.
Research and interpret emerging design trends, materials, products and global influences.
Push creative thinking and introduce new ideas, materials and approaches to the design team.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, and manufacturers.
Coordinate samples, finishes and prototypes to ensure design intent is achieved.
Ensure selected materials and finishes meet the required design, quality, budget and programme objectives.
Collaborate with construction and project teams to resolve design and material-related issues during delivery.
Provide support and direction to junior and mid-level designers.
EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in a similar interior design role, supported by a Bachelor of Design (Interior Architecture) or equivalent qualification, with demonstrated proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
They will be a confident and capable designer who works effectively both collaboratively and independently, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and brings a proactive, considered approach to their work and the broader design team.
DETAILS:
Hallmarc seeks someone available full time, with the option working 4 days in our CBD office and one day remotely, if desired.
Please send through a portfolio or a collection of past work to ****@halllmarc.com.au
Successful candidates will be invited to conduct a short interview process.
