Virtual Power Plant and Retail Electricity Lead - APAC

About the role

The Virtual Power Plant and Retail Electricity Lead for APAC will be responsible for driving the success of Tesla Energy's Retail Electricity and VPP offers in the Asia-Pacific region. They will lead the growth and operations functions for these programs and will be responsible for good customer and business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute on the plan for Tesla Electric, our retail electricity offer in Australia, offering consistent, attractive plans to complement Tesla's products.

• Establish and achieve targets related to customer and business outcomes.

• Grow our offerings in Tesla Electric, maintaining leadership in innovative retail offerings and drive cross-functional go-to-market planning.

• Advise on VPP opportunities and partnerships across the region, maximizing opportunities for owners of Tesla products.

• Manage and grow the regional team responsible for program operations.

• Manage regulatory and compliance risk associated with retail and VPP activities.

• Act as the regional subject matter expert on virtual power plants and market enablement for grid services for customer energy solutions, and advocate internally and externally on topics to achieve good business and policy outcomes.

About you

• Five years of experience in advanced retail electricity offers in the Australian market.

• Experience with offers linked to behind-the-meter technology preferred.

• Proven track record delivering new first-of-a-kind products and programs.

• Deep knowledge of the NEM: retail authorization, settlements, metering, FRMP obligations.

• Hands-on experience with DER/VPP value streams (e.g. FCAS, wholesale energy, network support, VPPs under AEMO/DNSP frameworks).

• Experience managing a team in a fast-paced corporate environment.
