About the Role

Reporting to the Coordinator Civil Asset Audit Unit, you will play a key role in protecting Council's civil infrastructure, ensuring external works meet required standards and supporting timely resolution of compliance matters.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting inspections, audits and investigations of civil infrastructure assets.
• Assessing works against approved plans, engineering standards and Council requirements.
• Identifying asset damage and non-compliance and coordinating remediation outcomes.
• Working with contractors, developers, utilities, customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Providing professional advice on asset protection and infrastructure compliance requirements.
• Managing compliance matters from initial inspection through to resolution or escalation.
• Conducting crossover and electrical permit assessments in line with Council standards

About You

You are a highly organised and customer-focused professional who thrives in a role that combines administration, stakeholder engagement, compliance and field-based inspections. You are confident managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively with customers, contractors, developers and internal teams to achieve positive outcomes.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience in administration, compliance, customer service, asset management or similar environments.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.
• High attention to detail with a focus on accurate records and data integrity.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, standards and technical documentation.
• Strong investigation, problem-solving and resolution skills.
• Confident using digital systems, databases, GIS, mobile technology and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of civil infrastructure assets, including roads, footpaths, kerbing, driveways and stormwater assets.
• Experience in civil asset audits, infrastructure inspections, compliance, local government or asset management highly regarded.

  The successful candidate will be required to satisfy pre-employment checks, including a National Police Clearance, applicable medical assessment, confirmation of legal right to work in Australia, a valid unrestricted South Australian driver's licence and hold a valid and current White Card issued by a certified RTO. Some out-of-hours work may be required.
