Senior tax accountant

Full-time/Part-time | Public Practice | HandiSoft / Xero / MYOB / QBO | Client-Facing

We’re a well-established tax agent in Bayswater, looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with clients, managing tax compliance, and handling a broad mix of work including SMSF.

About the Role

You will manage a portfolio of clients and handle end-to-end tax and compliance work, including:

• Preparation of individual, partnership, trust and company tax returns

• Preparation and review of BAS/IAS

• Preparation of financial statements

• SMSF compliance (financials and annual returns)

• Client communication and support (phone/email/in-person)

• Liaising with the ATO

• Assisting with tax planning and advisory work where needed

Software & Systems

You’ll be working across a range of platforms including:

• HandiSoft (Access)

• MYOB

• Xero

• QuickBooks Online (QBO)

• Reckon

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• 3+ years experience in an Australian public practice / tax agent environment

• Strong knowledge of Australian tax and compliance

• Confidence preparing returns for a range of entities

• Experience with SMSF compliance

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Professional communication skills and a client-first mindset

CA/CPA qualifications (or working towards) will be highly regarded.

Probation Period

This role will include a probation period of 3 to 6 months, depending on experience and performance, to ensure the right long-term fit for both sides.
