We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our team at Bloom Early Education Pinjarra. The Kitchen Hand/Cook will play a crucial role in providing nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our service, ensuring they receive the energy and nourishment they need to thrive.
Responsibilities:
Provide additional support in our kitchen, including helping with food preparation.
Hep plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children according to Bloom Early Education's dietary guidelines and any specific dietary requirements or allergies.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, following health and safety regulations and procedures.
Monitor food inventory, order supplies as needed and ensure proper storage of food items.
Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences of children.
Engage with children during meal times, promoting healthy eating habits and positive mealtime experiences.
Adhere to all food safety standards and regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
You must also meet the following criteria:
Previous experience working as a kitchen hand/cook in an early education setting or similar environment preferred.
Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with staff and parents.
Creativity and flexibility in menu planning to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
Current Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Be willing to obtain Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
Genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their overall well-being.
