Social Media & Marketing Assistant

Please note this role is currently advertised as casual with guaranteed hours, but has strong potential to move into a full-time position as the business grows.

About Us
Frankie's Smokehouse is a Texas-style BBQ restaurant in Woolloongabba, home to Frankenstein, our 8.5 metre custom offset smoker, and a menu built around 12 hour smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs and more. We've built a strong, engaged following on social media and we're looking for a part-time Social Media & Marketing Assistant to help us keep up the momentum.

About the Role
You'll work directly alongside our Social Media & Marketing Manager, helping bring Frankie's to life online. This is a great opportunity for a uni student studying marketing (or similar), or another early-career candidate, to get hands-on experience in social media, content creation and community management at a fast-growing hospitality brand. This role is casual with guaranteed hours to start, but for the right person, there's genuine scope to grow into a full-time position as our marketing needs expand. We're after someone who wants to build real experience and grow with us, not just fill a casual shift.

What You'll Be Doing

• Responding to comments and DMs across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok in our brand voice

• Replying to reviews on Google, Bing, TripAdvisor and Uber Eats

• Filming and helping edit short-form video content for Frankie's Smokehouse and Frankie's Firewood, including Saturday coverage

• Organising and tagging raw content so it's easy to find and reuse

• Repurposing content across formats (e.g. cutting a TikTok down into a Reel or Story)

• Keeping our menu, hours and details consistent across Google Business, Bing, TripAdvisor and Uber Eats

• Helping maintain a simple weekly tracker of follower growth and top-performing content

• Supporting influencer collaborations and event logistics

• Scheduling approved posts and Stories once signed off
  

What We're Looking For

• Genuine interest in social media, content creation and marketing

• Comfortable filming and being around a busy hospitality environment, including Saturdays (once a month)

• Reliable, organised and happy to take direction while also bringing your own ideas

• Some experience with platforms like CapCut, Canva or basic video editing is a bonus, but not essential, we'll help you get up to speed

• Currently studying marketing, communications or similar is a plus, but not required
