Officer Plumbing Inspector - 12 months Fixed Term

Gympie Regional Council is seeking an experienced Plumbing Inspector to join our Plumbing Section for a 12-month fixed term full-time position. Help ensure plumbing work across the community meets the required standards, legislation and codes. Working under the supervision of the Coordinator Plumbing Section, you’ll be responsible for assessing and inspecting plumbing applications, responding to customer enquiries and investigating customer requests. You’ll also contribute to reviewing and improving the section’s policies and procedures.

What you’ll bring

• Current Queensland Plumbers and Drainers Licence
• Current Queensland C Class driver licence or above
• Current General Construction Induction (White Card)
• Sound knowledge and experience in plumbing assessment and certification, particularly for Class 1 and 10 buildings
• Working knowledge of the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018, relevant regulations and industry codes
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, correspondence and written instructions
• Ability to work collaboratively within a specialised team
• Good computer literacy

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications Criteria 

Experience or qualifications in any of the following will be highly regarded:

• Backflow prevention
•  On-site sewerage facilities
• Solar and heat pump systems
• Class 2–9 plumbing applications
• Associate Diploma in Applied Science (Construction Hydraulics) or equivalent
