A little about the roleThe Program & Practice Specialist is a newly created role that is responsible for the co-design and continuous improvement of evidence informed, child safe and culturally aligned programs across KAA’s service continuum.
In this role, you will translate evidence, policy, safeguarding and practice knowledge into clear, practical program frameworks, tools, and guidance that support consistent and high-quality service delivery.
Other key responsibilities include:Develop and maintain program logic models, service frameworks, practice tools and intervention pathways.Consult with jurisdictional teams and program areas, including foster care, complex care and family services to understand business, practice, safeguarding and program requirements.Provide specialist input into program approaches for children, young people and families with complex trauma, statutory involvement or intersecting support needs.Develop and deliver training, briefings or capability-building activities to support effective uptake of program requirements and practice expectations.Identify implementation barriers, risks, dependencies and enablers, and work with stakeholders to develop practical solutions.Contribute to the development of outcome measures, evaluation approaches and reporting mechanisms that assess program implementation and effectiveness.
This is a full-time, 18-month contract position and you can be based at any of our offices, nationally! Please note, this position is internally referred to as Program Development Specialist.
About youThe successful candidate will come with demonstrated experience in practice/clinical leadership and have worked directly with children, young people and their families.You will also be able to deliver high-quality program development activities such as implementation, training, consultation and facilitation of reflective practice.
Other key things we are looking for:Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology or related discipline.Ability to facilitate staff learning through training and reflective practice sessions with operational staff.Extensive program and practice knowledge relevant to children and young people who have experienced trauma.Proven highly developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and engagement skills.Proven ability to use data and critical thinking to inform decision making.
