Construction Estimator - Powder Coated Aluminium Fabrication

Infraco is a Sunshine Coast-based fabrication and construction business specialising in powder coated aluminium products — balustrades, screens, fencing and architectural fabrication — alongside small to multilevel commercial construction works. We're looking for a Construction Estimator who knows this product range inside out to join our pre-contracts team and help us keep winning and delivering great projects. An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate, commensurate with experience.

The Role

You'll own the estimating process for our aluminium fabrication and powder coating scopes — from initial takeoffs and specification through to pricing, trade coverage and final quotation — working closely with our drafting, fabrication and project management teams. This role suits someone who understands both the product (balustrades, screens, fences, and related aluminium fabrication) and the construction environment it's installed into, including multilevel residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed estimates and quotations for powder coated aluminium balustrades, screens, fencing and related fabricated products

• Undertake quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings, including multilevel and commercial project documentation

• Interpret specifications and scope drawings to determine material, fabrication and installation requirements

• Source and assess trade and supplier quotes (glass, aluminium extrusion, fixings, engineering) to build competitive, accurate pricing

• Liaise with drafting, fabrication and powder coating teams to confirm buildability, finish requirements and lead times

• Maintain the quote register and tender documentation, and support handover of awarded projects to the delivery team

• Assist with pre-contract procurement, allowance breakdowns and purchase order preparation on awarded projects

About You

• Proven estimating experience within aluminium fabrication, balustrades, screens, fencing or a related architectural metalwork trade

• Understanding of powder coating processes, finishes and specification requirements

• Experience estimating for multilevel residential and/or commercial construction projects

• Strong drawing and specification interpretation skills, with a keen eye for detail on quantities and scope

• Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, builders, suppliers and internal fabrication teams

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent quotes and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience with various estimating software platforms highly regarded.

• Familiarity with other construction estimating platforms and quoting tools

• Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards for balustrades, fencing and aluminium fabrication

• Background in glazing, aluminium, or architectural fabrication industries
