The Role
Our Lady of Mercy College is seeking experienced and collaborative leaders to join our Pastoral Leadership Team as Head of Year.
The successful applicants will provide strategic and pastoral leadership for their designated year group, working in partnership with students, families and staff to support student wellbeing, attendance, engagement and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the pastoral care and wellbeing of students within the designated year group.
Build strong, respectful relationships with students, families and staff.
Monitor student wellbeing, engagement, attendance and academic progress.
Work collaboratively with other Heads of Year, teachers and College leaders to identify and respond to student needs.
Support the implementation of College-wide wellbeing and pastoral initiatives.
Lead year-level activities, events and programs that strengthen student belonging and connection.
Promote the values and mission of Our Lady of Mercy College.
About You
We are seeking a passionate and relational leader who:
Has demonstrated experience in student wellbeing, pastoral care and/or middle leadership.
Builds positive and trusting relationships with students, families and colleagues.
Is highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
Communicates effectively and works collaboratively as part of a leadership team.
Is committed to supporting the academic, social, emotional and spiritual development of young people.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos and Mercy tradition of the College.
