ABOUT US
The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
About the role
As a Prison & Social Chaplain, this is your opportunity to provide Christian pastoral care, spiritual guidance and religious services within a correctional centre, working as part of a multi-faith chaplaincy team to support.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Prison and Social Chaplains, this permanent part-time role offers 22.8 hours per week (three days per week) and operates across Inala and Wacol. The position supports prison chaplaincy services for approximately two days per week across correctional centres and one day per week at Streetlevel Community Centre, delivering pastoral care, support, and community engagement services.
Due to the sensitive nature of the role and its clientele, this position is only open to female applicants. This provision is permitted in accordance with section 25(1) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD).
