Medical Receptionist Part time 3 days/week -Sydney Respiratory Specialist Clinic

Sydney Respiratory Specialist Clinic is a well-established boutique specialist medical practice in Wahroonga. Our practice is supported by a full-time on-site secretary and a full-time off-site secretary.

We have four part-time respiratory specialists, two lung function scientists, a sleep therapist and a Chest physiotherapist in our team.

We are seeking a friendly, reliable and organised medical receptionist to assist with the smooth running of the practice on clinic days.

• Welcome patients in a warm and professional manner.

• Confirm and update patient information in the practice management software.

• Weigh patients when required and advise the relevant doctor or therapist of their arrival.

• Scan documents and upload them to the appropriate patient files.

• Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming reception area.

• Process payments following consultations with doctors, the lung function laboratory or the sleep therapist.

• Submit Medicare rebates electronically.

• Send relevant documentation to patients, pharmacists or other healthcare providers when required.

• Make follow-up appointments for the patients.

• Complete end-of-clinic payment and EFTPOS reconciliation.

• Close the EFTPOS terminal at the end of the clinic session.

• Tidy and reset reception, consultation and clinic rooms.

This is primarily a face-to-face reception and payment-processing position. The main aim is to assit the doctors to run the clinic smoothly.

The role does not require answering patient telephone calls or completing medical typing or dictation. All other clinic tasks are perfomred by two full time onsite/off site secretaries.

• Be confident using computers and learning medical software.

• Handle payments and financial reconciliation accurately.

• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

• Work effectively both independently and as part of a supportive team.

Previous experience in medical reception or a healthcare environment is preferred but not essential.

Previous experience in hospitality is favourable. Experience working in GP clinics is advantageous.

This job will be suitable for someone reducing their workload to retirement or a retiree wanting to join the workforce.

Salary- This position is in accordance with the Health Professional Support Services Award (MA 00027).

This position is placed at 33 AUD/h- casual rate.

The successful candidate, at the end of a 3-month probation, will be offered the option to change the award to perment part time based on performance and commitment.
