Assistant Accountant

Hume Doors & Timber (QLD) Pty Ltd is Australia's leading Door Manufacturer and Timber Wholesaler who has been in operation for over 70 years.  The company is 100% Australian owned and markets its products to the hardware, timber and building industries. Our Company has operations in Queensland, Northern Territory and New Zealand.  We are a family owned business whose Directors are heavily involved in the daily running of the company.

The company is looking to hire a driven and enthusiastic ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT to join our Accounting team based at our head office and main production facility in Kingston.  Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, this role will provide crucial Accounting Support to the Company.

The successful applicant will be involved in:

• Processing various General/Standing journals

• Assisting in the preparation of Month End financial reports for management

• Preparing daily cashflow reports for management

• Reconciling petty cash expenses

• Collating repairs and maintenance and capital expenditure invoices

• Assisting with the preparation of FBT transactions and supporting documentation

• Reconciling intercompany accounts on a monthly basis

• Setting up daily payments and prepare confirmations

• Preparing supplier payment reports for management

• Assisting with external audit requests

• Foreign Currency Cashflow forecasting

• Daily Sales Report preparation

• Month End Sales Report preparation

• Maintain established Sales budget templates

• Monthly Stocktake auditing and processing

• Support Stock Valuation data and reviewing BOM’s

• Accounting and reporting support for our NZ based company

Whilst not necessary, previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment and exposure to a large ERP system would be advantageous.
