About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant the that will support a broad range of accounting and administrative functions, helping to ensure the efficient and accurate operation of the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.

• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.

• Assist with maintaining the fixed asset register.

• Prepare the weekly cash flow report.

• Provide support across accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Review weekly employee timesheets and assist with payroll.

• Coordinate the monthly stocktake and finalise stock figures.

• Manage the shared accounts inbox.

• Work collaboratively to meet team deadlines.

• Manage employee expense claims and corporate credit cards in accordance with company policy.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls.

• Complete ad hoc reporting and respond to finance-related queries.

Skills and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, Accounting or an equivalent qualification.

• Three to five years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to learn internal systems quickly.

• A sound understanding of debits and credits, general ledger coding and core accounting principles.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work autonomously.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.

• High attention to detail and effective time-management skills.
