South Street Dental Centre is a busy, modern dental practice in O'Connor with a strong focus on high-quality patient care, personal service and teamwork. As we continue to grow, we seek a Dental Assistant who is enthusiastic, reliable and enjoys working in a structured, fast-paced environment.

This part time (3-4 days/week) role is particularly suitable for someone who is considering or currently enrolled in a dental assisting certification.

Candidates must have valid Australian work rights.

Your responsibilities:

• Greet patients and prepare them for scheduled dental procedures;

• Provide procedural assistance to the dentists, therapists and senior nurse

• Prepare the treatment room as directed by the dental operator and ensure correct, clean instruments and materials are available for use;

• Clean and sterilise the instruments prior to and after treatment;

• Clean the surgery and treatment room in accordance with the practice's policies and procedures, including decontamination procedures for infection control;

• Provide administrative assistance, including the maintenance and re-stock of dental and office supplies;

• Operate digital imaging equipment; positioning, capturing and processing x-rays

• Undertake reception and customer service duties, including, but not limited to, answering the telephone and carrying out general office duties when/as required

• Follow standard procedures and protocols, read and acknowledge staff notices and memos

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Experience in dental assisting (preferred)

• Cert III Dental Assisting obtained or enrolled is highly desirable

• Attention to care and detail

• Ability to follow systems, scripts, and standard operating procedures

• Reliability, punctuality, and accountability

• Ability to work under pressure and excellent time management skills

• A team-focused attitude and willingness to learn and grow

• Great communication skills
