Mechanical Tradesperson

About the Role

The work will involve a combination of mechanical installation, assembly and commissioning activities on industrial equipment and automated materials-handling systems.

Depending on the project, duties may include:

• Mechanical installation and assembly of plant and equipment

• Materials-handling equipment installation

• Installation and mechanical fit-out of automated machinery

• Alignment, adjustment and final mechanical fit-up

• Reading and working from mechanical drawings

• Use of hand and power tools

• Assisting with equipment commissioning and project completion

• Working safely alongside mechanical, electrical and project teams

• Working safely at heights from EWP up to 30 metres

• Completing work in accordance with site SWMS, procedures and safety requirements

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Australian-recognised Mechanical Trade qualification – Fitter / Fitter & Turner / Mechanical Engineering Trade / Plant Mechanic

• Previous industrial installation or construction experience

• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills

• Ability to read mechanical drawings

• Experience with conveyors, automated equipment or materials-handling systems highly regarded

• Current White Card

• Current driver's licence

• EWP, forklift, dogging or rigging tickets advantageous

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a project team

• A strong commitment to workplace safety

• Reliable attendance and a professional attitude

Previous experience installing or maintaining high rise automated warehouse equipment, automated cranes, production machinery or other materials-handling equipment will be highly regarded.
