Chefs

We are looking for two passionate, qualified and experienced Full-time Chefs to work at The Waterfront Store & Café based in Church Point Northern Beaches for two permanent positions. We are an established and a busy restaurant serving our loyal customers since many years.

These are two Full-Time roles, based at The Waterfront Cafe & General Store. Please note due to the nature of this role, a rotation of morning, evening, weekend and public holiday work may be required from time to time to meet operational requirements.

Duties include:

• Preparing, cooking and presenting a wide range of dishes in accordance with established menus and quality standards;
• Assisting with menu planning, development and costing;
• Monitoring the quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation;
• Discussing food preparation and operational matters with management, kitchen staff and front-of-house staff;
• Estimating food, labour and other operating costs and assisting with stock and supply management;
• Communicating management on profit margin, estimating food labour cost and negotiating with supply orders.
• Supporting the Head Chef and management in maintaining efficient day-to-day kitchen operations.

What Skills and Experience we are looking for

To hit the ground running you will need to demonstrate:

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, Kitchen Management or an equivalent qualification
• Require at least 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef in a restaurant or similar commercial kitchen environment;
• Constructive behaviours that are a positive example to others
• Ability to multitask and work as part of a wider team
• Strong autonomy and the ability to innovate and self-motivate
• The highest standards of food and occupational safety and hygiene
• Sound knowledge of dietary requirements
• Strong Leadership and Communications kills
• Strong Understanding and Focus on Food Safety and Hygiene Regulation
