Casual Bartender — Friday & Saturday Nights | Oakleigh

Medusa Lounge is a licensed shisha lounge in Oakleigh. Our weekends are busy and genuinely good fun, and we’re looking for an experienced casual bartender to run the bar with us on Friday and Saturday nights.

The shifts are Friday and Saturday, 8pm to 12am — four hours, two nights, every week. No split shifts, no roster surprises. You’ll know your hours well ahead.

$308 per weekend for eight hours — that’s $38.50 an hour average once weekend penalties are in. Paid weekly, + super paid on top, above award rates.

Key responsibilities

• Building cocktails to spec and fast, all night — this is the core of the role

• Serving bottled beer and spirits (we don’t have taps, so this isn’t a pour-and-repeat job)

• Taking table orders

• Running drinks to the floor

• Clearing and wiping down tables

• Running point of sale and cash accurately

• Keeping the bar clean and stocked ahead of the rush

• Working in step with our shisha team so service never stalls

• Keeping guests looked after so they stay and order another round

About you

• Current RSA

• At least 12 months behind a busy bar

• A real bartender, not a bar hand — cocktails good enough that people order a second one

• Someone who understands a good bartender lifts drink sales, not just fills orders

• Warm with guests and quick on your feet

• Reliable, on time, and off your phone during service

We’re expanding our weekday trade, so additional shifts may become available for the right person at the same rate.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a paid trial shift.
