Accountant - Outsourced Finance

About the role

This is an end-to-end client accounting role. You will be assigned a portfolio of clients and will manage their day-to-day finance functions with the assistance of other team members. The role will suit someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable moving between multiple clients in a day and can manage competing priorities and deadlines. This is an outsourced finance role and does not involve the preparation of income tax returns.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the bookkeeping and finance functions for an allocated portfolio of clients

• Process bookkeeping transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Prepare and process supplier payment runs

• Raise invoices on behalf of clients

• Process end-to-end payroll

• Complete monthly and annual payroll reconciliations

• Manage superannuation lodgements and payments

• Prepare payroll tax and WorkCover lodgements

• Prepare and lodge ATO Business Activity Statements (BAS)

• Complete STP submissions and related payroll compliance tasks

About you

• Previous experience working in an accounting or bookkeeping firm while managing multiple clients

• Strong practical bookkeeping and accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and financial reporting

• Demonstrated payroll processing, payroll compliance and BAS experience

• A degree in accounting or a related discipline, preferably

• Strong Xero knowledge and experience, with familiarity using Employment Hero Payroll and strong Excel skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional, responsive and client-focused approach

• The ability to work independently while also contributing to a team

• The ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple clients
