About Us
Sisterup is part of The Buddiup Group Geelong (Braddock Group Pty Ltd) which is a NDIS registered disability service organisation that provides mentoring and supports for participants with disability to engage in customised health and wellbeing programs and their community. Our mission is to help participants develop healthier lives and stronger social connections through quality support that enables them to achieve their goals. Buddiup Group runs two gender-specific programs, Buddiup for male participants and Sisterup for female participants.
Position Overview
Given the nature of our work and participant cohort, Sisterup is looking to speak with females who are interested in pursuing this role. If you are a male that is keen to get involved, please get in contact with – Buddiup (www.buddiup.com.au).
The Team Leader | Mentoring and Supports at Sisterup is a hybrid role, split between management of Mentors, Participants and scheduling, and delivery of supports (approx. 15-20 hours of supports per week).
You will be responsible for a group of participants in ensuring they have the appropriate supports to undertake programs and community-based supports.
You will be the first point of contact for parents and primary carers and work closely with other Team Leaders and Management in ensuring mentoring and supports are scheduled and delivered.
Experience in the disability sector, and qualifications in a relevant field is essential. We are looking for a new team member that is interested in advancing their career in human and care services, who is a team player, self-starter, and quick learner.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate mentors, participants and daily schedules across center-based programs and community supports.
Build meaningful and professional relationships with participants, families and primary carers.
Support participants to engage in programs, work towards their goals and develop greater confidence and independence.
Ensure programs and supports are delivered safely, professionally and in accordance with organisational policies, NDIS requirements and best practice.
Ensure mentors maintain accurate, timely and professional shift notes, documentation and communication.
Respond to day-to-day scheduling changes, participant needs and support challenges, using sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
Work collaboratively with the Program Lead and wider management team to continually improve program quality and participant outcomes.
Stay informed about the disability sector, NDIS requirements and relevant best practice.
Represent Sisterup professionally within the community and with families, participants and external stakeholders.
Fulfil a minimum number of direct support hours each week as part of the hybrid nature of the role.
Assist with general administration across mentoring and supports
Qualifications and experience
Experience working with adolescents or young adults with disability.
Demonstrated leadership or team coordination experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with participants, families, and colleagues.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Current Working with Children Check.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Victorian Driver’s Licence.
Understanding of NDIS
Desirable
Qualification in Disability, Community Services, Youth Work, Education, Health, or a related field.
Experience leading community-based or wellbeing programs.
Knowledge of person-centred practice, positive behaviour support, and trauma-informed approaches.
Experience supporting young women with intellectual disability, autism, or psychosocial disability.
