Programs & Activities Officer

We’re looking for a creative and motivated casual Programs & Activities Officer to join our team. This is a casual position, and the number of shifts available each week will vary depending on operational needs.

If you have a background in education, fitness, training, or arts, this is your chance to share your skills in a meaningful way - supporting detainees to build confidence, learn, and grow. 

You’ll deliver practical, skills-based sessions that support detainee wellbeing and engagement. From life skills to cooking programs, you’ll help design and facilitate activities that make a real difference. 

• Delivering and supporting group programs and life skills activities 

• Facilitating education, training, or practical workshops

• Contributing to inclusive, culturally sensitive program design 

• Providing feedback and supporting program reviews and improvements 

• Responding to emergency situations professionally and safely 

• Maintaining program spaces, equipment and documentation 

• Supporting detainees to build capacity and self-management 

You’re approachable, energetic, and passionate about sharing your skills to help others. You enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and have a calm, professional manner in dynamic environments. 

• Diploma of Community Services (mandatory)

• Excellent communication, judgment, and ethical integrity

• Ability to gain and retain all relevant clearances (i.e. AFP, WWCC, First Aid & CPR)
