Medical specialist secretary

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Medical Specialist Secretary to join our team at Dr Susan Morris' practice in Kew, Victoria. This full-time role is essential in providing administrative support to our team of medical specialists, ensuring the smooth running of our practice.

What you'll be doing

• Manage the specialist's diary, scheduling and coordinating appointments with patients and other healthcare providers
• Prepare and distribute correspondence, medical reports, and other documents on behalf of the specialist
• Handle patient enquiries, provide information, and direct patients to appropriate resources
• Assist with the organization and maintenance of the specialist's medical records and files
• Liaise with other medical professionals, such as GPs, to coordinate patient care
• Provide general administrative support to the specialist as required

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a medical secretary or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
• Proficient in using medical software, electronic medical records systems, and standard office software
• Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology and practice procedures
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
