HR Truck driver - Shepparton

Victorian Freight Specialists (VFS) is a privately owned company that has been in operation for over 25 years.

With 7 depots based in Dandenong, Truganina, Geelong, Echuca, Shepparton, Morwell and Wodonga and over 200 employees, VFS strives to achieve the best for its staff and customers.

VFS are seeking an experienced HR Truck driver to join its Shepparton team based on a full time Monday to Friday basis. The main role will be to complete various deliveries and collections across Shepparton and surrounding regions.                                                                                                                          

To be successful in this position you must have:

• A current HR Truck license

• 2 years minimum experience 

• A sound knowledge of load/unload freight 

• A sound knowledge of road legislation and safety

• Available for flexible hours 

• Proven attendance and reliability

• A can do attitude

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Forklift license (Not essential)

• Completion of a pre employment medical check required 

• Appropriate work visa required. 

Job duties:

• Transport freight from one location to another in a timely and safe manner.

• Plan and follow appropriate routes to ensure timely delivery of goods.

• Follow all legislation and adhere to road rules at all times.

• Perform pre-trip inspections and complete fatigue management questions on MT Data.

• Maintain accurate paperwork or information about pick-up and delivery on the VFS tablet.

• Obtaining signatures or certifications to confirm receipt or delivery of the cargo as required.

• Attend inductions for new site and adhere to the site safety protocols during loading and unloading procedures.

• Always confirm that goods are stored and secured adequately with straps, chains, or other restraints to prevent shifting or falling during transit.

• Check the weight of the freight to ensure it is evenly distributed on all axels and does not exceed the vehicle's weight capacity or legal limits

• Communicate effectively with fleet managers, customers and other drivers.

• Maintain a clean and organised truck, both inside and outside.

Applicants must possess a clean driving record and be prompt, honest and enjoy interaction with others.

The successful applicant will need to undergo a Vic Roads, Medical and Police check.
